FPC Duncan is so proud to have been a part of this fundraising effort! Thank you, Harper Pitts, for bringing awareness for DHS philanthropy week and for heading up the Chili Cook-Off that raised almost $200 for this worthy cause! #duncanproud #fpcgives
Cozy worship in the parlor this morning! Many thanks to all who were helpful and flexible. We had music, communion, and fellowship despite the cold and lack of power. Thanks to Brian Hibbard’s last-minute delivery, we even had coffee! #wheretwoormorearegathered
First Presbyterian Church Brief for Friday, March 1, 2019 You missed it! Last Sunday, FPC sponsored a chili cook-off with the proceeds given to HALO at Duncan High School. It was super successful and we were pleased to assist the students in their efforts to give to others. This coming Sunday March 3 Rev. Vicki Rucker will lead the worship service and Holy Communion will be shared. The choir will practice at 9:30—help us make a “joyful noise” in the worship of our Lord. This is the Sunday in which Presbyterians “celebrate the Gifts of Women”. On Ash Wednesday, March 6 our service will begin at 11:30 am followed by “John: Reading between the Lines” (bible study) led by Jim Brock. Both of these events will occur in the Fellowship Hall. In the meantime, on Saturday March 2 at 10am the Granthams invite you to help chop ham for use in the Toy Shop Baked Potato Day. Please meet in the kitchen with your favorite knife and cutting board to help with this important task. Rev. Sue Trei-Conrad will be with us on Sunday, March 10. She’ll be happy to see you. It should also be noted that the Annual Congregational Meeting will be held on Sunday, March 24 following the worship service. 2018 committee chairs need to turn their reports into Vicki Zimmerman SOON!
Willing to lend a hand for mission? We need electric knives and folks to chop some ham for the Duncan’s Toy Shop. 10 am Saturday, March 2. Ham for the Spud Dinner

Remember November 27, 2018 is Giving Tueday.
The Christmas Joy Offering December 2 – 23 For those of us gathered together in Advent expectation, we know that the only perfect gift ever given was the one we received in Jesus Christ — a perfect gift from a gracious God. Our gifts reflect our generous God. Our gifts support leaders in our Church and world past, present and future.
Make plans to be here for “Hanging of the Greens” and you don’t want to miss Elizabeth’s gumbo after worship this Sunday November 25 , 2018.

Diabetic Awareness I bet you know someone affected by diabetes. November is American Diabetes Month. By the time you finish reading this, 5 more people will join the 30,000,000 Americans who have diabetes. Maybe this fact will impress you more: one out of every three American adults (that’s 84 million)is considered at risk for diabetes and doesn’t know it! If you have diabetes, you are at greater risk for heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, kidney failure, amputation, blindness and death. 250,000 Americans die every year due to diabetes. What can you do to prevent diabetes? You can lower your risk by changing your lifestyle by: 1) managing your weight; 2) getting active; 3) eating healthier; and 4) quiting smoking.
